By being on a key tourist route from the cities of Glasgow and Stirling plus giving access to some of Scotland’s most popular tourist and outdoor destinations such as Oban, Fort William and on to the west coast islands such as Skye & Mull, the village enjoys an impressive amount of visitors stopping off during their travels.
The village is also an important stop on the West Highland Railway line, widely regarded as one of the World’s most scenic rail journeys and a must for any rail enthusiast. At Crianlarich the train divides, one section goes to Oban and the other on to Fort William and Mallaig. Passengers can take a trip from Fort William to Mallaig on the steam train which runs during the summer months.
Crianlarich is also on the famous West Highland Way, a 95 mile walking route from Glasgow to Fort William. Passing through spectacular scenery on the way, the village is one of the key stopping off points for walkers.
